Classification and principle of pneumatic actuators
Actuators can be divided into three types: pneumatic actuators, hydraulic actuators and electric actuators, with different power supplies. These three actuators have different working characteristics and are used in different workplaces. Pneumatic actuator is one of the three actuators with higher safety. It has higher safety requirements in the process of production control, and pneumatic actuators are commonly used.
1. Classification of pneumatic actuators
Pneumatic actuators can be divided into single - acting pneumatic actuators and double - acting pneumatic actuators. The switching action of the pneumatic actuator is completed by the air source drive, that is, the double action pneumatic actuator, only the opening action is completed by the air source drive, and the single action pneumatic actuator is reset as a spring.
2, the principle of pneumatic actuator
The double action pneumatic actuator is driven by the air source to complete the switching action. Compressed air is input to the pneumatic actuator from the nozzle of the pneumatic actuator. The gas will push the piston toward both ends, and the gear on the rotation shaft rotates through the rack to open the valve. When the pneumatic actuator is closed, the air source enters from the reverse nozzle, pushing the piston to the middle and driving the valve to close.
The single action pneumatic actuator is driven by an air source. The opening process is basically similar to that of the double-action pneumatic actuator, but the reverse nozzle of the single-action pneumatic actuator is an exhaust hole, and the compressor is not at the entrance. The closing action of the single action pneumatic actuator is completed by the spring power driven valve.
3. Structure of pneumatic actuator
The actuator and regulator of the pneumatic actuator are a unified whole. The components of the actuator can be selected from film, piston or rack and pinion, among which the rack and pinion is the most commonly used. Pinion and rack actuator has compact structure, large output power, stable and reliable action, and is the most balanced one among the three actuators.
